Home Fire Protection, LLC is a licensed fire sprinkler contractor in South Carolina (Lic. No. BSF.15421FSQ) and Georgia (Lic No. 000452).  We are passionate about providing you with the best possible system at a reasonable price to protect you and your family with this life-saving technology.  The tragedy of residential fires, and the resulting loss of life in the U.S. can be prevented.  According to NFPA, there were 3,430 fatalities resulting from fires in the U.S. during 2007, and 2,895 of those occurred in homes.  That's 84% of fire fatilities occuring in homes!  Statistics show that the most vulnerable to loss of life are children under the age of 14 and adults over 65.  Residential fires not only put the residents at great risk but also the firefighters that respond to those fires.  During 2007, 47% of the firefighter deaths in structure fires occurred while fighting home fires.  Be a lifesaver and include a residential fire sprinkler system in your home to protect the ones you love.  Life is too precious not to protect!

Fire sprinklers represent a proven technology that is affordable, available, and will save lives, but today fire sprinklers are present in less than 1% of single-family home fires.  The first few minutes of a home fire are critical for survival.  Fatalities occur when the fire burns out of control and blocks escape exits with heat and smoke.  Fire sprinklers activate within about a minute, knocking the fire down before it gets out of control.  The irony is that people will install lawn sprinklers to water their grass and trees, but resist installing a home fire sprinkler system to protect them while they sleep.  Why would anyone not take advantage of this technology when it is like having an invisible fireman on duty in your home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Unlike expensive commercial fire sprinkler systems, a residential NFPA 13D system uses the domestic water service line, which is generally sized at 3/4 to 1 inch depending on the available pressure.  The service line is installed by the plumbing contractor, putting a tee in the line before extending to the plumbing fixtures.  Home Fire Protection installs the sprinkler system starting at the tee.  We hydraulically calculate each system using a computer program to ensure adequate design flow and pressure will be available at each sprinkler head so it can perform as required.  To be aestically pleasing, a variety of sprinkler heads are available including ceiling surface, recessed, concealed and side-wall recessed.  An alarm bell is connected to a flow switch to detect sprinkler water flow, which in conjunction with smoke detectors will alert residents of a fire.

The installation cost for a new single-story residence runs approximately $2.00 per square foot of living space, depending on available pressure and style of sprinkler heads selected by the owner.  This is comparable to what many people pay for carpet upgrades.  Give us a call today for a free estimate based on the specific floor plan of your new home.  Retro-fit installations in existing homes are also available.
